Start by standing with your arms by your side.
Feet can be touching at the big toe or slightly apart. Balance the weight evenly between the feet (left to right & front to back).
Lengthen out through the crown of the head allowing the spine to extend up into the base of the skull.
Relax the shoulders & feel the weight of the shoulder blades hanging down the back, allowing the front of the torso to lift up through the chest.
Breathe in & then out.
Breathe: at first don't worry too much about when to breath in/out but do what comes naturally. As a general guide complete one circle of breathe with each pose. Breathing in as you move into the pose & out as you relax into it (this may vary depending on your pace/intensity & selection of postures).
I was taught to breath evenly in & out through the nose, although some say to breath out through the mouth.
